Funkmaster Flex went live on Instagram Live to discuss the night of November 30, 1994 when Tupac Shakur was shot in the leg at New York City’s Quad Studios. Apparently it seems that Flex was in the building at the time of the shooting.

Flex said, “PAc knew who approached him,” he continued. “He had a steel on him, ’cause he knew he had a issue out there, and when get got there, they was just gonna take his jewelry. They didn’t even touch him. He panicked, pulled out the steel and shot himself.”

Game File For New Trial In Sexual Assault Case

Recently, The Game was ordered by a jury to pay $7.13 million to Priscilla Rainey, who claimed he sexually assaulted her while she was a participant on his reality game show She’s Got Game and now he wants a re-trial, sources say.

The Compton rapper filed a motion and is asking for a new trial with a new jury. He thinks $7 million is just too much pay out for allegedly grabbing a woman’s private parts.

He’s also contesting the evidence presented including a “prejudicial” video of him and the victim after the alleged assault. Now Game wants the opportunity to tell his side of story, an opportunity he originally missed because his lawyer said he had a tooth infection. Stay Tuned In…

Denzel Curry Signs Deal With Loma Vista

Denzel Curry, who recently shared the details of his new distribution deal with Loma Vista Records to Billboard.

The South Florida MC explained that Loma Vista (an independent label that is home to both Iggy Pop and Marilyn Manson).

Curry said, “I went to several labels and pretty much I had weighed out my options with each label and [saw] what they wanted from me,” Denzel Curry said while speaking with Billboard. “And Loma was the only one that stood out to me [in] that they didn’t want the same things that all the other labels wanted. They wanted to really work and put effort in what I’m doing because they see we could do it on our own. So they just wanted to be the machine behind us.”

One of the first projects the 21-year-old musician plans to drop following this week’s news of his deal with Loma Vista is a re-release of his Imperial album. The re-release will feature two new songs, “Me Now” and “Goodnight,” and is scheduled for October 14.

In addition to divulging the details of his deal with Loma Vista, Curry also touched on collaborating with Rick Ross on “Knotty Head (Remix).”

Officer Betty Shelby Charged With Manslaughter Killing Terence Crutcher

In the affidavit, law enforcement stated the missteps that Shelby took in her handling of the situation.

“Your affiant feels that Officer Shelby reacted unreasonably by escalating the situation from a confrontation with Mr. Crutcher, who was not responding to verbal commands and was walking away from her with his hands held up, becoming emotionally involved to the point that she overreacted. Although Mr. Crutcher was wearing baggy clothes, Officer Shelby was not able to see any weapons or bulges indicating [a] weapon was present,” read the affidavit.

Bail for Shelby has been set at $50,000.

The Tulsa District Attorney spoke in a news conference regarding the manslaughter charge. During the conference, District Attorney Steve Kunzweiler mentioned the importance of due process.

Koda Black Gets Lite Sentence On CDS Charge

Kodak Black was sentenced in one of his cases after pleading no contest to two misdemeanor drug charges, sources say.

The 19-year-old rapper, born Dieuson Octave, was given a 120-day sentence in St. Lucie County, Florida. The time will be shortened to account for time already served in jail. He also received the penalties of a one-year driver’s license suspension and court costs.

Kodak also faces a sexual battery charge in South Carolina which carries a sentence of up to 30 years.

Kodak Black released his Lil B.I.G. Pac mixtape in June on his birthday. He was featured on DJ Khaled’s Major Key album and supposibly releasing a solo LP due out this winter.

Rapper Nelly Hit With IRS Infraction

The recently diamond-certified Country Grammar rapper Nelly is the latest celebrity to be hit with a tax lien, sources say, with the possibility of seizing some of his property and assets.

Earlier this year, the Missouri Department of Revenue demanded $149,511 in unpaid state taxes from the rapper from 2013.
Other recording artist hit with a tax lien over the course of their career. Lauryn Hill infamously served a three-month prison stint for refusing to pay over a million dollars in back taxes.

In 2011, Ja Rule served 28 months in prison for failing to pay $1.1 million in taxes between 2004 to 2006.
